KEYNOTE: Postgres 19 Hackers Panel: What’s In, What’s Out, & What’s Next | POSETTE 2026

Why watch

A panel of four PostgreSQL core contributors (Álvaro Herrera, Heikki Linnakangas, Melanie Plageman, Thomas Munro) discusses what made it into Postgres 19, features that missed the freeze, and preview upcoming capabilities for Postgres 20 including multithreading. Viewers gain insight into the PostgreSQL development process, the technical hurdles of working on the database engine, and the collaborative dynamics that drive major features. Ideal for PostgreSQL developers, DBAs, and contributors wanting to understand the project's direction.
